| Hey all - at least those that still read my blog. We (my house of 5 women) are in need of a few new (and good) roommates. We'll need one starting June 1st, and another starting July 1st and perhaps another starting in September. If you know of any wonderful Christian women looking for a beautiful place to live on the West side of Madison - let me know! The condo is located right off of High Point Rd. on the far South West side. We have 2 garages and one would possibly be available. Laundry is free, street parking is free, there are 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms (including the basement room) and the condo itself is only 3-4 years old. With 5 people living here rent has been in the $263-$293 range. There is the possibility of your own room. Give a hollar if you or someone you know is interested Megan Sanders 608.886.0295 | | |
| (Beautiful ring - photo taken by team member Matt Kirk)
Dear Friends and Family, I promised to post the official engagement story soon . . . so here it is: Wednesday evening (October 11th) Jordan Prindle arrived at my house to pick me up to go out to dinner. He was coming to town because he had been invited to go to Washington DC for a special Air Force Memorial program and he was going to fly out the next morning. When he arrived I had a pretty good idea he was going to propose because he was completely decked out in a beautiful blue collared shirt and dress pants with matching shoes and a matching belt (pretty incredible if you know Jordan)! He was also exhibiting strong characteristics of anxiety and nervousness. When we got into the car, he wouldn't talk to me or answer my questions with more than one word. Throughout dinner at the macaroni grill he remained stiff and when the waitress asked if it was a special occassion we were celebrating he answered with a firm, "no!" and then proceeded to question why she had asked that after she left. So defensive! After dinner we had some time to kill before we planned to watch an IMAX movie, so Jordan suggested we head downtown. We ended up at the Monona Terrace - a beautiful rooftop overlooking the Monona Lake, the capital building, and the Isthmus. It was very romantic with the city lights. All the way up the steps, I couldn't help but notice a funny grin on Jordan's face. When we got to the top, it was so cold and I was shivering all over so we ducked into a small lobby area where we could see the capital building. It was there that he turned and read to me the top ten reasons I should marry Jordan Prindle. He then proceeded to ask me to marry him, I said yes and he slipped the beautiful ring on my finger. (Monona Terrace view)
I am thrilled beyond words - that God has provided an incredible friend, leader, and lover in my life. Please join us as we pray in preparation for our marriage sometime in June. More details to come! | | |
| So apparently there are actual live opposum in Wisconsin! I always thought they were just road kill - somehow miraculously placed there already dead. Who knew they are actually large animal that roam around and sometimes land up on unsuspecting peoples porches. Wednesday night I had Yasmine over, the girl I mentor from the local HS, and we made some delicious apple crisp. Olivia, our new roommate, was also around, along with Abby - my other roommate. Well - the four of us decided that we needed ice cream to go on top of our apple crisp. So we headed down about 6 condo's to the residence of "the boys" - some guys that we know from work, etc. Fortunately they had the ice cream and we had a grand 'ol time eating our apple crisp together. When we headed back to our place Olivia started casually making some comment about a opposum and I thought she was making some reference to something from St. Louis or Texas - her hailing lands. However, I was sadley mistaken, and there on our porch was a large opposum dinking around. We made enough noise to wake the neighbors and ran back down and got our hero men to shoo it away for us with brooms. Finally we were able to approach our doorway. However, while we were gone (for about 15 minutes), my other roommate Erica had come home and turned all the lights off and locked the door. None of us had any keys on us and so we loudly knocked and rang the doorbell until she came down, a little disgruntled. All that to say - don't visit your neighbors without keys, a broom, and a phone. And tell your friends that despite popular opinion about road kill, real live opposums do actually exist in this part of Wisconsin - with big fat tails! | | |
| CALLING ALL COLLEGE STUDENTS!!
Urbana 06 is this year and it's going to be an event you won't want to miss . . . even if you're not interested in going overseas for missions. I went twice while I was in college and came away feeling excited about God's expanded kingdom and excited about who God calls me to be. Click on the graphic below and check out the video! If you're not in college - you can still come and volunteer.

| This morning I was driving through a parking lot and I zoned out. Suddenly I found myself in the left hand lane!! This is the side we drove on (or rode on in my case) in Bangladesh because of the British influence. I never thought I would actually zone out enough to let this happen. | | |
